Authorities are seeking the operator of an antiquated fire engine.
In Witten, Germany, on Thursday, August 27, an incident occurred that has left authorities searching for answers. Between 5 and 6 pm, an old red Mercedes fire truck from around 1970 hit three parked cars in front of the Edelstahlwerke premises on Gasstraße, causing approximately 13,000 euros in damage.
The driver of the fire truck is currently unknown and is being sought by the Bochum Police. The man is described as approximately 40-45 years old, with light brown short hair and a receding hairline. At the time of the incident, he was wearing glasses and a green or gray T-shirt.
The driver fled the scene after the incident, initially reported to have been on Wetterstraße. However, new information regarding his whereabouts has not been provided.
The investigation into the hit-and-run incident is ongoing, with the police appealing for witnesses to come forward. Anyone who has observed anything related to the incident or the driver is asked to contact the traffic commission at 0234 909-5206.
