In the Kreis Borken, Germany, a concerning trend of speeding incidents has been reported, with particularly serious violations occurring on several key roads.
According to the Circular Police Authority Borken, a vehicle was caught speeding at an alarming 152 km/h on the B 473 in Bocholt, significantly exceeding the maximum allowed speed of 100 km/h. Similarly, on the North circle outside built-up areas on the B 54 in Gronau, a driver was clocked at 137 km/h instead of the permitted 100 km/h. Inside Gronau-Epe on the Vennstraße, another vehicle was caught speeding at 63 km/h, more than double the 30 km/h limit for built-up areas.
These speeding incidents often lead to severe consequences, not just for those involved, but also for uninvolved road users. In recent police speed controls, over 16 percent of drivers exceeded the speed limits, with the most serious violations detected at measurement points in the southern district.
Excessive speed and reckless driving are identified as the main causes of accidents in Circular Borken. To combat and prevent these accidents, the traffic service will continue its measurements in the coming week.
The Circular Police Authority Borken recorded the speed of 10,787 vehicles at 18 locations in Circular Borken. As a result, two driving bans, 239 administrative offense proceedings, and 677 warning fines were issued.

Recently, a vehicle was also caught speeding at 80 km/h inside built-up areas in Raesfeld-Erle on the Marienthaler Straße, where the maximum allowed speed is 50 km/h.
