Authorities in Poland have transferred custody of 91-year-old Hattinger to a con artist.

On August 15, 2025, at approximately 1:00 PM, the victim was contacted by a female caller who claimed to be from their bank. The caller instructed the victim to withdraw a large sum of money in different denominations, under the pretense of resolving an alleged issue with the bank account.

The incident unfolded with the caller maintaining regular phone contact with the victim throughout the withdrawal process. Soon after the withdrawal, a woman posing as a bank employee collected the cash from the victim's residence. However, no arrests have been made in connection with the fraud incident as of the time of the report.
