Authorities seek potential bystanders for interrogation.
In a series of incidents, several cities in North Rhine-Westphalia have reported break-ins, with the latest occurrences happening on Graudenzer Straße in Waltrop, Beethovenstraße in Recklinghausen, and a house in Gladbeck.
In Waltrop, a supermarket was broken into between 03:55 AM and the present. The suspects managed to flee undetected after triggering the alarm, leaving without any stolen goods. It is reported that they forced open the main entrance door and broke open the cigarette cabinets, stealing several boxes and packs.
In a separate incident, a resident in Gladbeck noticed a break-in at a neighbour's house in the early hours of the morning. The resident saw two darkly dressed individuals running away from the house. However, it remains unclear whether any property was stolen during this incident.
Another break-in was reported at a youth center on Beethovenstraße in Recklinghausen. Two suspects forced open a window to gain access to the office rooms. CCTV footage captured the images of these suspects, but no further details about them have been provided. It is currently unclear whether anything else was taken from the youth center.
The cities affected by these recent burglaries include Ratingen, Langenfeld, Oberhausen, Bergkamen, Bönen, Fröndenberg, Holzwickede, Kamen, Schwerte, Unna, Werne, Neheim (Hochsauerlandkreis), and Sundern. These incidents occurred between September 5 and 15, 2025, involving forced entry into apartments, businesses, and other premises. Investigations are ongoing regarding the stolen items.
