Authority figures seek insights into the enigma of a food market burglary.
In the early hours of Monday morning, a grocery store on Moerser Street was the target of a burglary. The incident occurred in the city of Rheinberg.
According to the Circular Police Authority Wesel, three individuals were seen breaking into the store between 2:50 AM and 3:00 AM. The suspects forced open two self-service checkouts and made off with cash and a cash box.
A witness reported seeing three people climbing over a fence at the same spot at around 2:50 AM. Another observer noted a man examining a window of the building at the emergency exit at 1:20 AM. It is unclear if these sightings are related to the burglary.
The individuals were described as being of normal build and wearing dark clothing. Two of them were reported to have been wearing dark gloves and carrying burglary tools. However, no further information was provided about their identity or appearance.
The Criminal Police are currently investigating and searching for the three individuals. The window on the right side of the building was broken, suggesting a forced entry.
