1. FC Union Berlin Loans Goalkeeper Yannic Stein to Babelsberg 03 for the 2022/2023 Season

In a recent development, 1. FC Union Berlin has announced that goalkeeper Yannic Stein will be spending the current season on loan with regional league side Babelsberg 03. This move comes after Union Berlin recalled Stein early in June, but a new loan agreement has since been reached.

Yannic Stein, a 20-year-old goalkeeper, played for Babelsberg 03 in the second half of the previous season and has found comfort at the club. Horst Heldt, Union's professional football manager, has commented on Stein's comfort at Babelsberg 03, suggesting continued support for the young player's development through another loan with playing time.

The initial loan agreement for Stein at Babelsberg 03 was until summer 2026, but the terms have since been amended. The new agreement will see Stein spend the entire 2022/2023 season with Babelsberg 03.

Horst Heldt considers the current loan arrangement to be a good opportunity for all parties involved. He believes that another loan with playing time is beneficial for Stein's development, stating, "Another loan with playing time is a very good opportunity for all parties involved."

This decision comes after the club loaned out Livan Burcu to 1. FC Magdeburg during the 2022/2023 season. Stein, who plays football in the Bundesliga for 1. FC Union Berlin, will not be spending time with the club during the current season.

Despite the change, Horst Heldt remains optimistic about Stein's continued development. His comments indicate a positive outlook on the young goalkeeper's future, suggesting that he believes another loan with playing time will aid in Stein's growth as a player.
