In a move that could strengthen Bayer Leverkusen's attacking line, the German club has secured the services of 19-year-old Claudio Echeverri on a season-long loan from Manchester City.

Echeverri, an attacking midfielder, joined Manchester City from River Plate in January 2024 but spent the rest of the 2023-24 season with his former club. His brief stint with the English side saw him make three appearances.

The young talent is now eager to make his mark at Bayer Leverkusen, expressing his excitement about joining the club and playing more minutes. Echeverri has been impressed by the success of young players at the club and aims to get a lot of playing time.

During River Plate's 2024 league campaign, Echeverri scored two goals and registered three assists, showcasing his potential. He also managed to score one goal for Manchester City in their 6-0 win over Al-Ain at the Club World Cup.

Echeverri's arrival at Bayer Leverkusen comes at a time when the club is dealing with the loss of key players Florian Wirtz, Granit Xhaka, and Jonathan Tah. However, the club has already bolstered its squad with the signings of Jarell Quansah and Malik Tillman as replacements.

With Echeverri's addition, Bayer Leverkusen fans can look forward to seeing their new signing play his first taste of Champions League football. The young midfielder is ready to contribute to the club's success in the coming season.

Meanwhile, Amine Adli has moved permanently to Bournemouth, a separate transaction from Echeverri's loan.

As Echeverri prepares to don the Bayer Leverkusen jersey, he hopes to continue developing his skills with the German club and prove his worth in the competitive world of football.
