Russian President Vladimir Putin's recent stay in China has been the subject of much interest, and new footage of his visit offers a rare insight into his personal life. The footage, published by Russian state media journalist Pavel Zarubin on his Telegram channel on Monday, provides a unique look at Putin's living space during his week-long visit.
The decorations in Putin's residence were a vibrant blend of Chinese and Russian cultures. Chinese dancing lion statues and colourful Chinese figurines adorned the space, symbolizing a respect for Chinese traditions. To reflect Russian artistic elements, panda figurines were designed in the style of Russian nesting dolls, known as Matryoshkas. Additionally, dolls dressed in Chinese opera costumes and opera masks were also part of the decorations.
One intriguing element of the decor was a Labubu doll, a popular Chinese plush toy. During the visit, Russian Agriculture Minister Oksana Lut was seen closely examining this doll, while Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov expressed his interest in the toy as well.
The SCO summit, a significant part of Putin's stay in China, focused on strengthening the 'lasting friendship' between Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping. The footage offers further insights into the conversations and interests of the officials present.
Contrary to speculation, the footage does not show any interaction between Putin and a grandchild, and there is no photo or video evidence to confirm the presence of Putin's granddaughter, who is reported to speak fluent Mandarin, on the trip.
