Belgium Implements Additional Web Restrictions
The Belgian Gaming Commission has taken a firm stance against foreign-operated casinos, blacklisting a total of 78 gambling sites that continue to accept Belgian customers without a license.
The latest additions to the blacklist include Betsafe, Intercasino, and Casino-eagle, which join the ranks of the 55 previously banned games. The Commission's actions have been a result of their commitment to ensuring fair and regulated gaming within the European nation.
Operators found in violation risk facing hefty fines of up to €100,000. In contrast, the four land-based casino companies in Belgium that hold licenses allowing them to operate online after the ban on the previously mentioned four online games are: Casino Brussels, Casino Blankenberge, Casino Middelkerke, and Casino Namur.
The Commission only issues licenses to land-based casino companies with an existing license in the country. This move is aimed at maintaining control over the gaming industry and protecting Belgian players from potentially unscrupulous operators.
The Commission's crackdown has been ongoing, with an increasing number of games being blacklisted. As of now, the total stands at 78, a figure that continues to rise as the Commission continues its efforts against foreign-operated casinos.
These gambling sites were banned by the Belgian Gaming Commission, marking a significant step towards a more secure and regulated gaming environment within the country.
