Alba Berlin Secures Second Pre-Season Win Against Löwen Braunschweig
Alba Berlin continued their impressive pre-season form with a convincing 84:69 victory over Löwen Braunschweig in a sold-out MBS Arena in Oranienburg. The Berliners clinched the game by 15 points, extending their pre-season winning streak to two games.
The first half of the game ended with a commanding lead for Alba Berlin, with a score of 52:41. Boogie Ellis, one of the new additions to the team, shone as the top scorer for Alba Berlin with 19 points. Moses Wood, another new signing, contributed 15 points to the team's total.
Despite the absence of Martin Hermannsson, the team's captain who is currently with the Icelandic national team at the European Championship, the team fielded only nine professionals. Bennet Hundt, a youth player and guest player, was part of the Alba Berlin squad. J'Wan Roberts, another new addition, made his debut in the team's jersey.
The game served as a warm-up for the upcoming "Costa del Sol" tournament in Malaga, where Alba Berlin will face Unicaja Malaga and Real Madrid. The tournament games against Unicaja Malaga and Real Madrid are scheduled for this Friday and Saturday, respectively.
Last Sunday, Alba Berlin defeated Veolia Towers Hamburg with a score of 107:74. The team's first competitive game of the season will be at home against promoted Trier on October 3rd.
The pre-season victory against Löwen Braunschweig sets a positive tone for Alba Berlin as they prepare for the new season under the guidance of coach Pedro Calles. Real Madrid will face Alba Berlin next week as a major test opponent during the XIV Costa del Sol Tournament on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 8:00 pm CEST.
