Bet365, a leading online betting platform, has introduced a new feature called Position Payout for horse racing. This unique betting market offers a transparent, fixed odds bet that pays out according to the exact finishing positions of your chosen horse, typically the top four.
How Position Payout Works
In contrast to traditional each-way bets, each horse in the race has fixed multipliers for finishing 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and so on. The higher the position, the higher the payout. For instance, if you bet £10 on a favourite, it might pay £20 if it finishes 1st, £13 for 2nd, £8 for 3rd, and £5 for 4th. This method allows you to know exactly what you will get back without needing to calculate each-way odds or places.
Availability and Usage
Position Payout is available pre-race on selected UK & Ireland horse races from 10:00 AM (UK time), Australian and New Zealand races from 1:00 AM (UK time), and selected international meetings one hour before the first race where Fixed Prices are available. It works on multiples and pre-race bets only and is not available on antepost markets.
Bet Credits can be used to place these bets, but the stakes from credits are excluded from returns. Bets can be cashed out only pre-race. If a horse is withdrawn (non-runner), the bet stands at the original price if the odds were 5.75 or greater; otherwise, the bet is recalculated based on updated odds. If the number of runners is equal to or less than the offered finishing positions, bets are void. In case of a dead-heat, payouts are paid at the full multiplier for the higher place.
