BHC Makes a Grand Return to Prominence
BHC Gears Up for 2026/27 Handball Bundesliga Season
After a successful season in the second league, the Bergischer HC (BHC) is aiming high for the upcoming 2026/27 Handball Bundesliga season. The German handball powerhouse has set its sights on competing in the top tier of the league.
The BHC's impressive form in the second league last season saw them win all 17 matches, a testament to their determination and skill. This success has given them a strong foundation to build upon as they prepare for the challenges of the Bundesliga.
The team's strategy for the upcoming season is focused on accumulating points to ensure survival in the competitive league. To achieve this, the BHC has made some strategic signings, including Lars Kooij from Vardar Skopje and Nico Schoettle from TVB Stuttgart. Soren Steinhaus, who was previously on loan to TSV Bayer Dormagen, has also returned to the club.
The BHC's opening match of the season will be against the champion Berlin Füchse on Sunday at 3 PM. The team's second home game is scheduled for the 13th of September against Minden at 7 PM at the Uni-Halle. Other notable matches include the clash with TVB Stuttgart on the 6th of September and the visit of HC Erlangen on the 3rd of September.
The BHC's home games will be held in the Uni-Halle and Düsseldorf's Mitsubishi Electric Halle, with the exception of one game. Fans who wish to attend these matches can take advantage of the BHC Flex-Ticket, which allows ticket holders to choose which home game to attend and share tickets with family, friends, or colleagues. The Flex-Ticket is available until Sunday (31st August) for ten tickets for the price of nine.
However, the BHC has also bid farewell to some key players, with Tjorvi Gislasson, Arnor Vidarsson, and Djibril M'Bengue departing the club. Aron Seesing, Eloy Morante Maldonado, Christopher Rudeck, Tomas Babak, Noah Beyer, Robin Granlund, Johannes Wasielewski, and Gerdas Babarskas remain as the team's key players for the upcoming season.
In addition to the regular season, the BHC has announced that the early bird discount sale for the "highlight game" on 24th May 2026 in Düsseldorf's PSD Bank Dome against the record champion THW Kiel starts on Monday. More details about the BHC Flex-Ticket can be found in the ticket shop on the official website www.bhc06.de.
As the 2026/27 Handball Bundesliga season approaches, the BHC is ready to face the challenges head-on. With their sights set on survival, the team is eager to make a strong impact in the league. Fans can look forward to an exciting season of handball action as the BHC takes on some of Germany's top handball clubs.
