Bicycle Tour with City Official: Mayor of Finsterwalde Explores Montataire Cycling Path - Pit Stop in Eppelborn
The "Tour of Friends" bike tour has set off from Finsterwalde, Germany, marking the beginning of a journey that symbolises the bond between Finsterwalde and its partner cities. The tour, a special partnership action led by Mayor Jörg Gampe and economic developer Torsten Drescher, will cover approximately 1200 kilometers, passing through cities such as Doberlug-Kirchhain, Leipzig, Eisenach, Kirchhain (Hessen), Frankfurt, and Mainz.
The tour's initial leg will take it through France, with a route that includes Metz and Paris, and a destination of Montataire. This journey through France is a part of the lively town partnership between Finsterwalde and its partner cities. The tour is a demonstration of how active and sustainable European friendships can be shaped.
As the tour continues towards France on July 12, it will make a stop in the Saarland partner municipality of Eppelborn. In Eppelborn, Mayor Andreas Feld and First Deputy Mayor Christian Ney will join Gampe and Drescher for the last kilometers to the town hall. During their stay in Eppelborough, Gampe and Drescher will participate in the 18th Saarland Central Run in Habach. The exact date and time of the start of the run during the guests' stay in Eppelborough is not specified.
The tour's itinerary in France includes meetings with representatives from the French partner city. In Montataire, encounters with representatives of the French partner city are planned. The other representatives from Montataire involved were local council members and economic development officials who met with Torsten Drescher and Mayor Jörg Gampe during the Tour of Friends in Montataire.
