Bicyclist Scamps Scene Following Collision with E-Scooter

In Essen-Steele, Germany, on the evening of August 11th, a collision occurred between a 14-year-old E-scooter rider and an unidentified cyclist at Grendplatz. The incident took place around 9:30 PM.

The young E-scooter rider was travelling along Grendtor Street towards Grendplatz, while the unknown cyclist was riding a small red bicycle from Grendplatz towards Grendtor Street. Witnesses report that the cyclist, described as approximately 10 years old and around 140 cm tall with short brown or black hair, did not seem to notice the approaching E-scooter rider.

The collision occurred at Grendplatz, and the E-scooter rider was lightly injured. Unfortunately, the cyclist did not stop to check on the injured girl after the collision but continued towards Bochumer Street.

The Traffic Commission 1 and the Police in Essen are now seeking witnesses to the collision. Anyone who may have seen the incident is asked to contact the Essen Police at 0201/829-0 or email their information to [email protected].

It appears that an advertising board in the area may have obstructed the view of both parties, potentially contributing to the collision.

The name or identity of the young cyclist involved in the accident remains unknown, as the cyclist fled the scene and remains unidentified. The Police and the Traffic Commission 1 hope that by gathering more information, they can identify the cyclist and ensure a full investigation into the accident.
