Binance Announces Significant Change in Proof of Reserves Involving XRP, BTC, and ETH
Binance Publishes Proof-of-Reserves Snapshot and Announces New Listings
Binance, the global cryptocurrency exchange founded by Changpeng Zhao, has published its 34th Proof-of-Reserves Snapshot, providing transparency regarding its holdings.
According to the snapshot, Binance holds significant amounts of major cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), XRP, Solana (SOL), and Binance Coin (BNB), as well as stablecoins Tether (USDT), First Digital USD (FDUSD), and USDC.
As of the snapshot, Binance's Bitcoin net balances stand at 608,017 BTC, a 2.85% growth, or 16,858 BTC added from August. The exchange balance is 600,060 BTC, while third-party custody holds 29,213 BTC.
For Ethereum, Binance disclosed holding 4,340,935 ETH on behalf of users, a decrease of 4.7%, or 214,079 ETH, from August. The exchange balance is 4,003,076 ETH, with third-party custody holding 337,971 ETH.
Binance's Ethereum net balances are 4,341,048 ETH in total.
The exchange also holds substantial amounts of XRP and BNB. The exchange balance of XRP held by Binance is 2,679,656,480 XRP, while it holds 2,708,196,286 XRP for users, resulting in a net balance of 2,788,066,030 XRP. Binance's third-party custody of XRP stands at 108,409,550 XRP.
Regarding BNB, the exchange balance held by Binance is 43,819,393 BNB, and third-party custody holds 407,652 BNB. Binance holds a total of 39,305,748 BNB on behalf of its users, with net balances totaling 44,227,046 BNB.
Binance also announced the addition of three new listings, marking the start of September on a positive note.
In the case of Solana (SOL), the exchange balance is 22,613,923 SOL, while a total of 23,792,991 SOL is held for BNB customers, with net balances totaling 23,793,005 SOL. Third-party custody of SOL held by Binance is 1,179,082 SOL.
Lastly, Binance holds 31,255,725,065 USDT on behalf of users, representing a 4.69% increase.
