Boat operators on the Wupper River can now enroll in courses focusing on nature conservation as of February 10, 2023.
In exciting news for boat enthusiasts and those interested in nature conservation, the Biological Station Mittlere Wupper has announced a series of one-day courses aimed at both professional canoe tour providers and individuals planning private canoe tours on the Wupper. These courses, which begin at 10:00 AM and are divided into a theoretical morning session and a practical afternoon session, are designed to educate participants about the unique characteristics of the protected Wupper area and sensitize them to the Wupper habitat.
The courses, which will take place in Solingen, are part of an initiative to promote considerate driving behaviour on the Wupper. Navigating the Wupper within the European protected area "Wupper from Leverkusen to Solingen" is only permitted if a corresponding qualification is present.
The Biological Station Mittlere Wupper is responsible for conducting these courses, and registration can be done via the booking form on their website at https://www.bsmw.de/veranstaltungen/fortbildungen/.
