Boomer's Sportsbook Set to Revolutionize Nevada Gaming Scene

Boomer's Sportsbook, a new independent operator, is set to open its doors in Elko, Las Vegas, and Henderson this August. The launch comes after the Nevada Gaming Commission's unanimous approval on Thursday. Joe Asher, a renowned industry veteran and Gambling Hall of Fame inductee, leads the venture.

Asher, previously president of Sports Betting for IGT until June 2024, has praised recent changes to Nevada's horse racing regulations. He opposes unregulated games, including prediction markets operating under federal oversight. Despite his stance, Asher supports Nevada's in-person registration requirement for mobile games, a move that aligns with Boomer's plans to launch a mobile app.

Boomer's will operate in casinos owned by Boyd Gaming Corporation and Garry Ellis, who has partnered with William Hill. The sportsbook opened in Ellis Island Casino and Casino Valle Verde in August 2022 and will expand to Ellis Island Casino in Las Vegas and Ellis Island Casino in Henderson this August. Asher expressed his excitement for Boomer's journey ahead, working alongside their great team.

Boomer's Sportsbook, under the leadership of Joe Asher, is poised to make its mark in Nevada's gaming scene. With a planned mobile app launch, it aims to become the only independently run sportsbook in the state with a digital platform. The Nevada Gaming Commission's approval signals a promising start for this new venture.
