Actress Sonakshi Sinha, known for her roles in films like Heeramandi and the recent supernatural thriller Nikita Roy, has taken to social media to express her displeasure over several brands using her images on their official websites without her consent.

In a note shared on her Instagram Stories on Tuesday, Sinha stated that she often shops online and was surprised to discover that some brands were using her pictures without seeking usage rights or permission. She found it unacceptable for brands to exploit her likeness in this manner.

The brands in question include Lee Cooper and Vega, according to Sinha's note. She questioned why brands would use her images without seeking permission, even though they give credit when an artist wears their outfit or jewellery.

Sinakshi Sinha, the daughter of veteran actor-politician Shatrughan Sinha, asked the unnamed brands to remove her images from their websites. Her post on Instagram Stories received a reply from senior actor Tabu, who said "I knew I wasn't the only one who felt this." Tabu shared the post with the caption "Same same thoughts. Thank you."

Sinha's criticism comes at a time when she is gearing up for her upcoming project Heeramandi. The actress was last seen in the supernatural thriller movie Nikita Roy, which was released in July this year.

This is not the first time Sinha has spoken up against the misuse of her images. In the past, she has been vocal about the need for respect and protection of an individual's personal brand and intellectual property.

With her latest move, Sinha joins a growing list of celebrities who are taking a stand against the unauthorised use of their images by brands. It remains to be seen how the brands in question will respond to her criticism.
