Bridge in Leipzig under temporary closure following collision involving pedestrians and motorcyclists.
In an unexpected turn of events, an accident occurred on Brandenburg Street in Leipzig on Sunday evening, around 8:30 PM. Contrary to earlier reports, the accident did not involve a vehicle from Volkswagen or a high-voltage transformer, nor was there a tram accident involving a Hyundai on a traffic island or an e-scooter incident involving a rider being hit and dragged by cars.
The incident involved a pedestrian and a motorcyclist. Both individuals were seriously injured and had to be taken to the hospital by ambulance. The street had to be fully closed outbound for rescue and recovery operations, causing a significant traffic jam.
The police asked all local traffic participants to take a wide detour around the area to minimise disruption. The search results do not provide the name of the people involved in the accident, and the featured image is an EHL Media montage.
We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as more information becomes available. Our thoughts are with those affected by the accident.
Stay safe on the roads, Leipzig.
