Bridge passage successfully completed
The Large A7 Valley Bridge Thalaubach, a significant milestone in construction, has recently been opened to traffic in Eastern Hessia's Eichenzell. This bridge is part of the A7 highway and was constructed by Autobahn GmbH, a company responsible for the project from its inception.
Bernhard Klöpfel, an employee of Autobahn GmbH, gave an interview about the bridge to HIT RADIO FFH. The construction of the first bridge section took two years to complete, and now that it's open, the existing bridge will be demolished, a necessary step before the construction of the second bridge section.
The first bridge section, now operational, allows traffic to flow in both directions. The second bridge section, for the direction towards Würzburg, will be built in the same location after the demolition. The Autobahn GmbH currently estimates the total costs for the project at 115 million euros.
The construction work for the second bridge section is expected to take another approximately three years. Once the demolition is complete and the second bridge section is built, the Large A7 Valley Bridge Thalaubach will be fully functional, providing a crucial link in the A7 highway network.
The Large A7 Valley Bridge Thalaubach is a testament to the commitment of Autobahn GmbH to maintaining and improving infrastructure in the region. The company has overseen the replacement and traffic management of the bridge since 2022, ensuring a smooth transition for commuters and travellers alike.
As the Large A7 Valley Bridge Thalaubach undergoes further construction, it is expected to continue serving as a vital connection in Eastern Hessia's transportation network. Stay tuned for updates on this exciting project.
