In a special occasion marked by resilience and dedication, the Queen's Birthday Honours List for 2020 has recognised a diverse group of individuals who have contributed significantly to the country, particularly during the pandemic.

Among the honourees are Samantha Payne and Joel Gibbard, co-founders of Open Bionics, who have been awarded a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for their pioneering work in the field of bionic arms. Their innovative solutions have transformed the lives of many amputees.

Joining them is David Alexander Wilson McCredie, CEO of the Australian British Chamber of Commerce, who has been honoured with an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for his services to UK-Australian relations.

Janet Elizabeth Sawyer, founder of LittlePod, and Rory Clarkson, an aerospace engineer for Rolls Royce, have also been awarded MBEs for their exceptional contributions in their respective fields.

Kimberley Cram, Project Director at Macquarie Group, Arthur Curtis, founder of TILE, Experience UK, ITEC and ETSA, and John Kell, Research and Development Specialist in the Automotive Sector Team, have also been recognised with MBEs.

Robin Watson, CEO of Wood Plc, has been awarded a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE), while Elizabeth Vega, Group Chief Executive of Informed Solutions, and Jonathon Glyn Jones, Managing Director of Trading at Tregothnan, have been honoured with OBEs.

Adrian Fisher, founder of Maze Creator Design, and Alpesh Bipin Patel, founder of Praefinium Partners, have also received MBEs and OBEs, respectively.

Anthony Cleary, Managing Director of Lanchester Wines, and Jacob Thundil, founder of Cocofina, have been awarded MBEs for their contributions to the food and beverage industry.

Stephen Johnston, Economic Adviser, Trade Remedies and Disputes, has been honoured with an OBE for his services to international trade.

Simon Kelly, Country Director for Angola, has also received an MBE.

Joanna Crellin, HM Trade Commissioner (Latin America and the Caribbean) and Consul-General, Sao-Paulo, Brasil, has been awarded a CBE and Companion of the Order of St Michael and St George (CMG) for her services to UK-Brazil relations and promoting UK trade.

Antonia Romeo, Permanent Secretary at the Department for International Trade, has acknowledged the resilience of these individuals who have contributed to the COVID-19 response. She has also congratulated British business leaders and DIT colleagues for their contributions to international trade.

International Trade Secretary Liz Truss has expressed her congratulations to the UK exporters and business leaders who have been recognised with Honours. She looks forward to continuing to celebrate those who export overseas and showcase UK goods the world over.

This year's Honours List is a testament to the innovation and creativity of UK businesses, and it is integral that we continue to equip businesses across the country with the information and tools needed to export across the globe. Trade is essential to the UK's economic recovery from Coronavirus.

While the search results do not provide information on other individuals from the Department for International Trade who were honoured in the 2020s New Year Honours lists apart from Joanna Crellin and Stephen Johnston, the celebration of these outstanding individuals serves as a reminder of the spirit of innovation and resilience that defines the UK.
