Brooklyn Nets' player Ziaire Williams secures a long-term contract commitment.

Ziaire Williams has decided to stay with the Brooklyn Nets, re-signing for a two-year contract with a team option in the second year. The deal, worth $12 million, was announced by Nets general manager Sean Marks on Monday.

Williams, a versatile two-way player, spent the first three years of his professional career with the Memphis Grizzlies before being traded to the Pelicans in the 2021 NBA draft. He was later traded to the Brooklyn Nets.

In his first season with the Nets, Williams averaged a career-high 10.0 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 24.5 minutes per game. He improved his three-point shooting percentage, shooting .345% from beyond the arc in the 2024-25 season. This performance earned him increased playing time from head coach Jordi Fernandez by the end of the season, as he played in 63 games and made 45 starts.

The re-signing of Williams is a significant move for the Nets, who finished the 2024-25 season with a record of 26-56, 12th out of 15 teams in the Eastern Conference. The contract extension for Williams is for two years, with the second year having a team option.

The negotiations for Williams' re-signing were handled by Nets officials and Aaron Mintz of CAA. This move comes after general manager Sean Marks' involvement in trades to facilitate salary-dumping moves.

Williams' career-best season with the Nets is a promising sign for the team's future. With his versatility and improved shooting, he will undoubtedly be a valuable asset to the team in the upcoming seasons. The Nets are looking forward to seeing what Williams can achieve in the coming years.
