Zhejiang Geely Automobile Reports Increase in Sales Volume
Zhejiang Geely Automobile Holdings Ltd, a homegrown Chinese private automaker, has reported a 10.8% increase in sales volume year-on-year for the month of February. The company sold 31,806 vehicles during this period, according to the data released on Wednesday.
However, the sales volume does not include any data from the seven days' Chinese New Year holiday, nor does it include any data from the month of January, which is being compared to. As a result, the 30.3% decrease in sales volume in February compared to January might be partially attributed to the holiday.
The top four best-selling models for Zhejiang Geely Automobile Holdings Ltd in February were the Free Cruiser (7,736 units), Geely Kingkong (6,694 units), Emgrand EC series (5,624 units), and Vision (4,286 units). The company did not specify which models contributed to the remaining sales volume.
In other news, Geely and Mercedes are set to launch the smart #2 EV city car in China in late 2026. The Smart #2 EV, a fully electric two-seater in the A-segment, will be part of Smart's brand comeback, while Mercedes-Benz is planning to launch a new electric model in China during the same timeframe. The specific contributing companies besides Smart and Mercedes-Benz are not detailed in the current information.
