Landshut's Youth Festival 2.0: A Successful Gathering of Youth and Community
The Youth Festival 2.0, held recently at the Youth Culture Center Alte Kaserne, was a resounding success. The event, organised by the Youth Council and Municipal Youth Work, brought together young people from Landshut and beyond for a day of fun, creativity, and collaboration.
The Youth Council, elected in November 2024, played a pivotal role in the festival. They were able to collect a multitude of ideas for the future, establish further contacts with the Landshuter youth, and showcase their commitment to the community. The second mayor of Landshut, Dr. Thomas Haslinger, acknowledged the work of the Youth Council and took the time to inspect the offers, stepping in for Mayor Alexander Putz.
The musical framework of the festival was provided by DJ SixX P from Dingolfing, while the young duo "Scarlet & Sin" impressed the crowd with their performance. Artist Max Schalk, alias mr.mesc, led a graffiti action where young people could create art on canvas.
Visitors engaged in various activities, including designing gym bags, getting henna tattoos, and having braids woven. The Educational Youth Protection offered alcohol-free cocktails and managed catering at the festival.
The festival's offer is expected to be expanded for the next edition, scheduled for 2026. Further providers of Landshuter youth work are expected to participate, ensuring an even more vibrant and diverse event. The Youth Council was supported by employees of the Poschinger Villa Youth Center, the Mobile Youth Work, the Checkpoint Youth Club, and volunteer helpers.
Dr. Thomas Haslinger, the second mayor who participated in the youth festival on the Friday before last month, engaged in conversation with the visitors, further demonstrating the city's commitment to its youth. The Youth Festival 2.0 was more than just a day of fun; it was a testament to the power of community, creativity, and youth engagement.
