Bundesliga champions, Bayern Munich, jumped into action with a decisive 6-0 victory over RB Leipzig, with striker Harry Kane notching a hat-trick.

In a dominant display at the Allianz Arena, Bayern Munich kicked off their 2024-25 Bundesliga campaign with a resounding 6-0 victory over RB Leipzig.

Harry Kane, the newest addition to the Bayern Munich squad, stole the show with a hat-trick, his ninth in the Bundesliga. The goals came in a 13-minute spell, putting Leipzig out of sight and establishing Bayern's dominance early on.

The English striker was not alone in his goalscoring exploits. Michael Olise, another standout performer, scored a brace for Bayern, with his first goal coming in the 27th minute and the second three minutes before half-time.

Luis Diaz, the former Liverpool winger, was instrumental in Bayern's success. He scored the second goal for Bayern five minutes after Olise's opener and provided two assists. Diaz ended the game with the highest number of chances created, four successful dribbles, and a game-high 26 passes in the final third.

Serge Gnabry also played a key role in Bayern's attacking prowess, contributing to multiple goals throughout the match.

Bayern Munich's finishing was of high calibre, outperforming their 1.62 expected goals (xG) total by a staggering 4.38. This impressive performance saw them remain unbeaten in their opening match of a Bundesliga campaign for the 14th season running (W12 D2).

However, it was not all plain sailing for Bayern. Antonio Nusa's goal for RB Leipzig was ruled out due to an improper free-kick by Castello Lukeba.

The result leaves Bayern Munich at the top of the table, with a perfect start to their title defence. As the season unfolds, fans will be eager to see if this impressive opening performance is a sign of things to come.

Despite the lack of information regarding the top assist-provider in the Bundesliga this season, it is clear that Bayern Munich's attacking talent is in fine form, boding well for their title defence.
