Business prospect: Role as an International Trade Manager available
The Association of the European Automobile Manufacturers (ACEA) is on the hunt for an International Trade Manager to join their team. This role will see the successful candidate representing ACEA members in meetings with key EU stakeholders, including the European Commission, European Parliament, and member states.
ACEA, an organization that represents Europe's 16 largest manufacturers of cars, vans, trucks, and buses, is seeking a dedicated professional to support its industrial policy & international trade team. The International Trade Manager will be at the forefront of addressing market access barriers to automobile trade across the globe.
The day-to-day tasks for the International Trade Manager will include representing ACEA in external events, preparing briefings, and hosting meetings for members. The role will also involve monitoring policy and regulatory developments impacting the automobile industry in the areas of international trade and customs, and communicating these developments to ACEA members.
To be considered for the role, candidates should have at least two to three years of previous working experience, ideally in EU trade or customs policy and/or the automotive sector. A university degree in economics, law, or political science, with preference for a master's degree, and specific studies on trade economics/trade law are advantageous. Proficiency in AI advocacy tools is an added advantage.
The International Trade Manager will work closely with the International Trade and Customs Director and will be required to have a policy communication mindset and strong political acumen, with the ability to translate complex issues into clear, accessible content framed within a broader context. Excellent presentation, writing, and editing skills in English are essential, with good knowledge of other languages being advantageous.
Good knowledge of the EU institutions and EU decision-making processes is essential for this role. Core areas of interest for the International Trade Manager will include the EU's industrial and trading relationships with the United States, China, and the UK.
