Quebec Sunflower Farms Offer Summer Delights

Two family-owned businesses in Estrie and Monteregie are showcasing Quebec's agricultural know-how through sunflower events. The Tournesols Orford farm and the Ameroquis company, a six-generation Laplante legacy, are inviting visitors to immerse themselves in the sunflower season.

Located at the foot of Mount Orford, the Tournesols Orford farm attracts thousands of visitors each summer. From mid-August to the end of September, visitors can stroll among the sun-kissed rows of the farm, which is at its peak during these months. However, it's important to note that the farm does not offer tractor rides, mini-farm animal observation, or on-site purchases of local artisans' products.

Visitors can pick up to four sunflowers per ticket at the Tournesols Orford farm. For a more comprehensive experience, the Ameroquis company's site, previously a dairy farm, now an oil mill for organic sunflower oil, offers a picnic area, tractor rides, strolls along trails, mini-farm animal observation, and the opportunity to purchase local artisans' oils, soaps, and balms.

The event at Isabelle Morin's site in Sainte-Christine is hosted by the Ameroquis company. Until the end of August (weather permitting), visitors can tour the Ameroquis facilities. The Tournesols Orford farm and the Ameroquis company are separate entities, so it's recommended to check their respective websites for more information: Tournesols Orford and Ameroquis.

For those interested in learning more about the sunflower events, the Tournesols Orford farm website provides detailed information. The Ameroquis company, with its roots deeply entrenched in the region, continues to celebrate its heritage by offering a unique and memorable experience for all.
