Bybit's World Series of Trading (WSOT) sets a new Guinness World Record for the most online trading participants in a single day.
In a groundbreaking achievement, Bybit, the renowned cryptocurrency exchange, has claimed the Guinness World Records title for "the Most Participants in an Online Trading Competition within 24 Hours". This record was set during the World Series of Trading (WSOT) event held on August 27, 2025.
With over 70 million users served globally, Bybit has been redefining openness in the decentralized world since its inception in 2018. The exchange is renowned for its secure custody, diverse marketplaces, intuitive user experience, and advanced blockchain tools. It also bridges the gap between TradFi and DeFi, offering a simpler, open, and equal ecosystem known as Web3.
The WSOT event saw a staggering 71,765 participants within 24 hours, smashing the previous record. The first 30,000 eligible participants meeting the record criteria will share an additional secret prize pool beyond the main $10 million WSOT prize pool.
The Main Competition had 1,474 squads, marking a significant 288% year-on-year increase. In total, over 236,209 registrations and 43,505 participants were recorded. The first WSOT Onchain Wave, which started on August 18, 2025, saw over $68 million in trading volume. As of September 8, 2025, WSOT 2025 set new records across key metrics, including a record high total trading volume of $172.8 Billion.
Bybit partners strategically with leading blockchain protocols and provides robust infrastructure, driving on-chain innovation. The record was verified by a third-party auditor and officially awarded by Guinness World Records.
Claudia Wang, Head of Marketing at Bybit, stated that the event demonstrates team spirit and attests to WSOT's mission to rewrite and reshape crypto history. Tony Au, the Head of PR at Bybit, expressed his excitement about the achievement, inviting interested individuals to contact him at [email protected].
On September 8, 2025, Bybit hosted an event to celebrate this historical moment. Participants were given 50,000 MNT for WSOT, and the live audience received 1,000 USDT in airdrops.
Despite the record-breaking success of WSOT 2025, no specific person or institution was found to be the organizer in the available search results. However, Bybit's commitment to fostering innovation and its focus on creating an equal and open ecosystem make it an ideal candidate for such a groundbreaking event.
