Bystanders notified for Football Supporters Heading to Hanover

On Saturday evening, a series of incidents occurred at Erfurt Central Station involving fans of the football club Hannover 96. The Federal Police Inspectorate Erfurt is currently investigating these incidents.

Approximately 350 fans of Hannover 96 arrived at Erfurt Central Station from Bamberg around 20:00. However, on their return journey from Franconia, approximately 40 fans illegally crossed the tracks at the station. This action, along with other disruptive behaviour, led to a number of incidents.

The incidents included the unlawful discharge of a fire extinguisher and the setting off of pyrotechnics on a platform at the station. A camera was also taped over, and disorderly conduct was reported.

The police ensured that the remaining Hannover 96 fans reached the departure platform in an orderly manner. Proceedings have been initiated against the Hannover 96 fans who deliberately violated criminal and regulatory laws.

The regional train with the Hannover 96 travelers left Erfurt Central Station at around 20:25. The incidents occurred specifically on platform 3 and platform 8.
