Caesars Brings Modern Luxury to Lake Tahoe with Massive Harveys Makeover
Caesars Entertainment is shaking up its Lake Tahoe presence with a major overhaul of Harveys Lake Tahoe, transitioning the resort into the swanky, Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe by mid-2026. Following a whopping $160 million transformation, the property aims to offer a seamless fusion of modern design and the region's famed alpine charm.
Under construction since 2023, the revamp puts Marnell Companies in charge, steering a reimagine of the sprawling 1.6 million-square-foot property. The rebrand marks the second venture under the Caesars Republic brand, set to debut a year earlier in Scottsdale.
Harrah's Lake Tahoe, Harveys' cross-street counterpart, is also part of the makeover, with much-needed enhancements heading its way.
Going Beyond the Name Change
Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe'sreinvention extends beyond a simple name tweak. The update envisions an overhauled casino floor boasting modern lighting, revamped gaming machines, a High Limit Room, and a dedicated World Series of Poker Room. Across accommodations, the Remus Tower's rooms receive a complete makeover, with the Romulus Tower undergoing select upgrades. Butler service will be a delightful addition to some premium suites.
The lobby will don a sassy new persona with Cleo's Coffee and Cocktails, transforming from a bustling café into a sleek, time-of-day adapting lounge. Restaurants such as WOLF by Vanderpump and Gordon Ramsay HELL'S KITCHEN will up their game along with the fresh surroundings.
Tahoe's Landscape Lives On
Chief Executive Anthony Carano maintains that the updates intend to deliver a chic, contemporary resort experience while preserving Lake Tahoe's enchanting ambiance. Carano reveals, ""The property transformation has kicked off, and it'll continue through 2026, with the all-new hotel tower, hotel lobby, incredible restaurants, and a completely reimagined casino coming online this summer for our guests to revel in right away.""
Meanwhile, Harrah's Lake Tahoe revels in the glow of improvements, too, with updates to Summit Suites and the launch of Brew Brothers, a hip joint for craft brews and tasty grub.
Karie Hall, SVP and General Manager of Harrah's and Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe, feels the initiative balances history with modern sensibilities. ""This transformation honors the rich heritage of Harveys while introducing modern amenities and elevated experiences that will redefine luxury in Lake Tahoe,"" Hall confirms.
First opened in 1944, Harveys has grown to become Lake Tahoe's most extensive casino, stepping into its next chapter as Caesars Republic.
A breakdown of the total renovation scope includes upgraded accommodations, reimagined gaming areas, refreshed dining options, and enhancement of both Harrah's and Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe.
The project unfolds in phases, with the metamorphosis of Caesars Republic's casino, select rooms, and dining options becoming operational by July 1, 2025. Renovation work will slow during the summer season of 2025 but pick up steam again in the fall, with a complete transformation expected by mid-2026.
