Cafe NeuHaus Resumes Operations Post Summer Vacation with an Enlarged Idea
In the heart of Ingolstadt, Germany, a unique social café named Café NeuHaus is set to open its doors on September 22nd. Located near the SkF business office (Schrannenstraße 1a), the café has been refined during the summer break and will offer a peaceful environment for exchange, serving hot and cold drinks, homemade cake, and more.
Initially, Café NeuHaus was only open to women in imminent or acute housing need. However, as of September 22nd, the café will be open to everyone, making it a welcoming space for all members of the community.
The operations of Café NeuHaus are solely run by volunteer staff, who provide service, lead group activities, and offer a listening ear to guests. Volunteers from the Press Office/Social Service of Catholic Women e.V. Ingolstadt, along with other volunteers, will be present to ensure the café's smooth functioning. Specific identities or detailed roles of the volunteers were not disclosed.
Café NeuHaus aims to break down barriers and provide help and support to its guests. The café plans to collaborate more closely with the Ingolstadt Tafel in the future, further expanding its reach and support network.
In addition to providing a space for social interaction, Café NeuHaus offers social-pedagogical counseling on various topics such as housing, job search, bureaucratic matters, life structure, conflict resolution, and strengthening competencies. Upon request, volunteers can refer guests to professional consultants in the fields of family and life counseling.
The SkF's network with other support services, including medical care, is also used for concrete assistance. The café operates under the motto "together - for each other," emphasizing its commitment to fostering a supportive community.
