Call to the Press: Third International Intelligence Bureau Congress

The Internationaler Bund (IB), a social organization active in Germany and Poland, is set to host its third congress in Berlin Mitte on September 12. The event, themed "Together! For Diversity, Inclusion, and Democracy," aims to foster professional exchange about central societal issues.

The congress is open to researchers, professionals, youth, decision-makers, and interested parties. Keynote speakers include Petra Merkel, President of the IB, who will give a lecture on strengthening gender equality, and Ronen Steinke, leading editor of Süddeutsche Zeitung, who will discuss how laws can act as a tool for societal change.

Among the urgent questions to be addressed are: How can Germany promote its diversity? How can people who feel marginalized experience active participation in society? How can democratic values be strengthened? Sylvia Bühler, a member of ver.di federal board, will give a lecture on requirements for digital education from a trade union perspective, shedding light on these questions.

Young people are not only the target audience but also active shapers of the congress. Their involvement is particularly important to the International Bund. Prof. Christian Pfeffer-Hoffmann will give a lecture on skilled worker immigration and changing labor market, addressing the concerns and perspectives of the younger generation.

Concrete IB projects will be presented, ranging from kindergartens to schools to voluntary services. The event is free and media are welcome. Media representatives are also welcome on-site, with accreditation possible via email at: [email protected]. The IB will broadcast the congress live on the internet for free, ensuring that everyone can participate.

A list of all speakers and their topics can be found here. For more information about the Internationaler Bund and its work, visit their website at www.ib.de.
