DML Creation Tops 2015 List of Fastest-Growing Promotional Products Companies in Canada
In a significant recognition for the promotional products industry, DML Creation of Mirabel, Quebec has been named the top company in Canada's 2015 list of fastest-growing promotional products companies. The announcement was made during the third ASI Power Summit Canada, held at the Four Seasons Whistler in British Columbia.
Founded by Dan Danielsson and Marie-Louise Danielsson in 1986, DML Creation has grown to become a leading supplier in the industry. The company's president, Ron De Moor, accepted the award at the summit, which was attended by entrepreneurs, multi-national CEOs, and small-business owners.
The list was released by the Advertising Specialty Institute (ASI), a global organisation dedicated to connecting suppliers, distributors, and end-buyers in the promotional products industry. The top 10 fastest-growing Canadian companies, based on percentage growth between 2012 and 2014, were featured in the report.
The 2015 State of the Industry surveys were mailed to ASI members and subscribers of ASI's Counselor® magazine who are primary contacts for their company. The report revealed that while 2014 was a reasonably strong year for Canadian distributors of promotional products, those surveyed are more pessimistic about this year, especially when compared to the U.S. Only 31% of Canadian distributors are expecting sales to increase this year, as compared to 72% of U.S. distributors.
Despite the cautious outlook, the report suggests that promotional products continue to be a high-impact, cost-effective ad medium. ASI's Global Advertising Specialties Impressions Study indicates that even small companies can achieve as high an ROI as major corporations using promotional products.
The Power Summit was designed to forge new business relationships and explore more efficient ways of navigating the global economy. Guest speakers at the summit included Michael Lee, director of global marketing for Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba.com, and Colin Hansen, president and CEO of AdvantageBC and a former member of the British Columbia legislature.
Cross-border shipping between the U.S. and Canada has become more challenging, according to distributors. Increased shipping costs in Canada are anticipated to rise by approximately 11% compared to 2013. Despite these challenges, products made in Canada are expected to grow by about 25% over 2014.
ASI president and chief executive officer, Timothy M. Andrews, stated, "ASI is thrilled to recognise the Canadian companies posting impressive gains in sales of promotional products during a period of economic challenges." The organisation celebrated the top 10 fastest-growing Canadian companies at a dinner during the Power Summit.
In conclusion, the 2015 list of fastest-growing promotional products companies in Canada highlights the resilience and growth of the industry, despite economic challenges. The Power Summit provided an opportunity for industry leaders to network, share insights, and strategise for future growth. The entire North American promotional products industry posted record sales of $21.5 billion in 2014, up 5.1% from 2013, according to ASI research.
