On September 20th and 21st, a special allowance will be given in Berlin for dog owners to bring their furry friends to swimming pools, albeit they must be content with observing them from the pool's edge rather than letting them splash around.

In a unique turn of events, dog owners in Berlin now have the opportunity to bring their furry friends for a swim in two of the city's public pools.

The Berliner Bäder-Betriebe, the municipal company responsible for Berlin's public pools, has announced special dog swimming events at Sommerbad Staaken-West on September 20th and Sommerbad am Insulaner on September 21st.

Dog swimming will take place between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM on both days. The entrance fee structure for dogs is unique, with each paw or foot being considered individually. The entrance fee for a four-legged dog, typically, is 4 Euro, which is higher than the 2 Euro entrance fee for humans.

For the safety of the animals, no chlorine will be used in the water. Owners must bring a valid EU pet passport and a copy of their dog's liability insurance.

Bathing is exclusive for dogs, with owners staying by the poolside. This means that owners are permitted to accompany their dogs during these events.

The entrance fee structure differentiates between humans and dogs. While the fee for dogs is based on the number of paws or feet, the fee for humans remains a flat rate of 2 Euro.

This is a great opportunity for dogs to have a fun and safe swim in a public pool, and for their owners to enjoy the day out with their beloved pets. So, get ready to splash and play!
