Car Accident on Main-Tauber Motorway Involving Poland and Hungary's Parties
On Monday afternoon, a collision occurred on the A81 near Großrinderfeld, resulting in approximately €15,000 worth of damage and two injuries.
According to the Heilbronn Police, a 21-year-old driver in a Mercedes-Benz van veered off the road and collided with the central reservation barrier, stopping on the left lane. The Fiat, driven by a 36-year-old, subsequently collided with the central reservation barrier, stopping about 50 meters behind the Mercedes-Benz.
Fortunately, both drivers were taken to a hospital for further examination. The driver of the Mercedes-Benz sustained minor injuries, while the Fiat driver was seriously injured.
The reason for the Fiat driver veering off the lane is currently under investigation. As of now, it is known that there was no collision between the Mercedes-Benz and the Fiat.
Due to the collision and investigation, the stretch between the Tauberbischofsheim and Gerchsheim junctions had to be fully closed for approximately two hours. Both vehicles had to be towed away due to the damage from the collision.
The Heilbronn Police Headquarters, led by Chief Inspector (KOR) Stefan Schwab, who has been in office since June 1, 2023, was responsible for managing the situation. Chief Inspector Schwab was officially installed on June 5, 2023, by Police President Frank Spitzmüller.
