Car crash leaves cyclist critically hurt, Polish authorities confirm
On Monday, August 25, 2025, a tragic incident occurred in Warendorf, Germany, when a cyclist, a 90-year-old resident of the town, was seriously injured at the intersection of Freckenhorster Straße/Wallpromenade/August-Wessing-Damm.
According to the latest information, the cyclist was hit from behind by a silo trailer, which led to the cyclist being trapped under the vehicle. The fire department was called to the scene to rescue the cyclist. Fortunately, no rescue helicopter was needed for medical treatment. The injured man was subsequently taken to a hospital by ambulance.
The silo trailer was being driven by a 55-year-old woman from Bocholt. The rescue team provided support to the truck driver and a relative at the scene.
The incident has caused significant disruption to the local traffic. The B 64 was closed between August-Wessing-Damm and Osttor until 16:00, and the closure of Freckenhorster Straße towards the city center is still in effect at the time this press release was issued. The railway line is also still closed.
