In the past few days, several traffic incidents and a truck fire have caused disruptions on various roads in Hesse, Germany.

On Wednesday, August 27, a series of accidents occurred. At around 7 PM on Rabanusstraße in Fulda, a Ford driver collided with a 64-year-old pedestrian, resulting in slight injuries for the pedestrian who was taken to a nearby hospital. Approximately an hour earlier, a traffic accident occurred on Bahnhofstraße and Reichstraße in Bad Hersfeld. Two vehicles collided, causing approximately €8,000 worth of damage. A 52-year-old Ford driver was slightly injured and taken to a nearby hospital.

Earlier in the day, on Wednesday morning around 6:00 AM, a 41-year-old bicyclist from Dipperz collided with the rear of a parked VW Golf on Bronnzeller Straße in Engelhelms, resulting in serious injuries.

On Thursday, August 28, the day started with a traffic accident on the L 3174 near Rödergrund. A 20-year-old driver from Tann lost control of his Mercedes Vito, causing the vehicle to overturn, resulting in approximately €20,000 worth of damage. Around the same time, a truck on the A66 near Neuhof-Nord exit, heading towards Fulda, caught fire due to a technical malfunction in the axle area. The driver of the hazardous material-laden truck reacted quickly, stopping on the shoulder and disconnecting the tractor unit, preventing a potential hazardous material leakage.

The most significant disruption occurred later in the day on the A7, heading north, in the exit area of the Fulda Mitte interchange. At around 11:00 AM, there was a traffic accident involving a truck. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident. The truck fire that followed was quickly extinguished, thanks in part to the driver using both onboard fire extinguishers. The property damage from the truck fire incident was approximately 600 euros.

Another incident involving a cyclist occurred on Wednesday, August 27, around 12:30 PM, on Petersberger Straße. The Honda Jazz driver from Schlüchtern collided with a 28-year-old cyclist from Schlüchtern. The cyclist fell and sustained minor injuries. The estimated property damage from this accident is around 2,500 euros. The cyclist was taken to a nearby hospital for further medical treatment.
