News Article: Kassel Mentoring Project Seeks Volunteers to Support Young People
The AGiL employment promotion agency's mentoring project in the Kassel region is calling for doctoral candidates or doctorate holders from all humanities and social sciences to become mentors starting from November 2025. This one-year commitment aims to provide guidance and support to young people, particularly those with migration or refugee backgrounds, in their transition from school to work.

The mentoring project, which is funded by the Hessian Ministry of Social Affairs and Integration, has been successful in helping young people navigate their career paths for over 10 years. Currently, around 50 volunteers are helping with career orientation, writing applications, finding internships and apprenticeships, and preparing for job interviews.
Mentors are required to have professional knowledge and life experience. They will be integrated into a well-organized and professionally supervised network. In addition to individual support, mentors also train young people in cooperation with schools to prepare them for job interviews.
The mentors will receive compensation for their expenses. AGiL, the project's sponsor, offers regular meetings, networking events, and training sessions to support the volunteers. The demand for mentors is high in the city and region, making this an excellent opportunity for those who wish to give back to their community.
