Yacht Destroyed by Fire in Little River, South Carolina

A yacht was severely damaged by a fire early Saturday morning at Coquina Harbour in Little River, a small coastal town situated on the inland side of the Intracoastal Waterway. The incident occurred around 4 a.m., and the blaze was so intense that it illuminated the dark morning harbor.

Horry County firefighters were the first on the scene and found the yacht engulfed in flames. They were joined by local fire departments and the U.S. Coast Guard in the firefighting efforts. It took until 6 a.m. for the firefighters to gain control of the fire.

Thankfully, the person on board the yacht did not require hospitalisation. Officials evaluated one person for minor injuries. The cause of the fire has not been immediately released.

The fire caused heavy damage to the yacht, and minor damage to another boat nearby. Fortunately, the dock remained undamaged.

Little River is a charming town located near North Myrtle Beach and Cherry Grove, approximately 30 minutes from Myrtle Beach. A video of the fire shows the yacht up in flames with large smoke clouds billowing up.

Despite extensive searches, the name of the owner of the destroyed yacht has not been made public.

Additional resources were called in to help put out the fire, and the incident is currently under investigation. We will provide updates as more information becomes available.
