The river Bahuda, named "the giver of arms" due to a miraculous event involving two brothers, flows near the temple. Another story tied to the Bahuda River is associated with the village of Kanipakam. The well where the idol was found is named Kanipakam, which means "wetland and flow." Interestingly, the well has never run dry and overflows during the monsoon months.
The temple has a significant place in local folklore. The discovery of the idol was accompanied by the restoration of sight, hearing, and speech for three brothers. This miraculous event added to the temple's fame and its status as a symbol of hope and faith.
The idol's growth is evident, with a silver armour offered fifty years ago no longer fitting. This growth serves as a reminder that faith, like life itself, is never still.
