Celebrating 240 years of association: Belrem Guild

The Dillweißensteiner Belrem-Gilde, a long-standing local organisation, recently held a membership meeting last Friday, marking a significant milestone after a pandemic-induced hiatus. The gathering was marked by a lively atmosphere, as members looked back on well-attended events and celebrated the election of new officials.

During the meeting, Gildemeister Jörg Müller was unanimously re-elected, and all positions in the guild council were filled, a relief after some had remained vacant last year. The family Jourdan – Gaby, Gerhard, Tobias, and Marc – was honoured for 10 years of longstanding membership, while eleven members were recognised for their 20 years of dedication to the guild.

Among the new additions to the council, Alexandra Goossens was elected as treasurer, Tobias Jourdan as secretary, and Julia Schäfer as youth leader. Simon Stiegele, Beate Franck, Daniela Alva, and Marc Jourdan were elected as deputy members. Carmen Sancho was appointed as costume keeper, and Gerhard Jourdan was chosen as equipment keeper. Wolfgang Häffelin was elected as head of the cannons department, and Benno Kreuter was appointed as head of the historical group.

The meeting also announced the dates for upcoming events. The 1st Dillweißensteiner Summer Tavern Singing, a new format introduced by the Dillweißensteiner Belrem-Gilde, was a success and will be repeated on Friday, July 21, 2023. The 2nd Dillweißensteiner Summer Tavern Singing promises to be just as enjoyable.

The evening concluded with a cozy barbecue in summer temperatures, further emphasising the camaraderie and enthusiasm within the guild. Jörg Müller expressed his opinion that more Seggeles (events) are needed for a more enjoyable life, a sentiment echoed by the members.

This article is an archive piece, and some of the contact information and date details may no longer be current. The search results do not provide information about which persons were honoured by the Belrem-Gilde on July 21, 2023, for long-term membership of at least 30 years. Carmen Sancho and Maite Maday Sancho were honoured for 20 years of longstanding membership.

The Dillweißensteiner Belrem-Gilde continues to thrive, with its members looking forward to another year of events and camaraderie.
