Celebrating Advanced Engineering Solutions Globally on UNESCO's World Engineering Day, led by Trimble
In a significant move towards promoting sustainable engineering, Trimble, a leading technology brand, has been selected as an official partner for the UNESCO World Engineering Day for Sustainable Development (WED) 2025. The announcement was made during the IFA Berlin event held from September 5 to 9, 2025.
Trimble, known for transforming the ways people move, build, and live through core technologies in positioning, modelling, and data analytics, will play an integral role in the 12-month WED campaign. The company's insights and expertise will contribute to highlighting engineering's crucial role in achieving the UN's 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Mustafa Shehu, President of the World Federation for Engineering Organizations (WFEO), stated that WED 2025 aims to put engineering in the global spotlight and inspire the next generation. He also emphasized that the event highlights how engineers are leading the way in meeting the UN's SDG targets.
Jacques de Mereuil, Executive Director of the WFEO, expressed delight about being involved in the WED 2025 launch and having Trimble as a partner. The WED campaign, which is estimated to reach more than 100 million individuals globally, is initiating a year-long series of events, films, articles, and news to highlight engineering achievements and promote it as a career.
Trimble's technologies aim to improve customers' productivity, quality, safety, transparency, and sustainability. Emily Saunoi-Sandgren, director of sustainability at Trimble, stated that Trimble technology helps customers regularly report significant reductions in waste and errors. Addressing wasted effort leads to savings in fuel, materials, labor costs, among others.
The WED campaign content, including a multimedia hub dedicated to Trimble, is hosted on the WED website at worldengineeringday.net. To learn more about Trimble (Nasdaq: TRMB), visit www.trimble.com.
