In the usual bustle of the city of Neuss, a change is afoot. The much-anticipated Hanse Festival, which typically graces the city's streets from September 19-20, will not be taking place in its usual form this year. However, fear not, as the city has an exciting alternative to keep you informed and engaged.

Neuss Marketing and the Zukunftsinitiative Neuss (ZIN) have taken the reins, organising a free newsletter that promises to be a treasure trove of information about social developments, culinary arts, art, and culture in Neuss. While the Hanse Festival may not be happening as planned, there's still a way to explore the Lower Rhine by bike. A bike route is available, connecting Neuss, Wesel, Kalkar, Emmerich am Rhein, and Dutch Hanse towns, allowing you to experience the Hanse route firsthand.

The city centre of Neuss will be decorated for a Sunday shopping event during the Hanse weekend, with shops opening from 1 to 6 PM. Six Hanse towns will be presented in pagoda tents, including Neuss, Kalkar, Wesel, Emmerich, Salzwedel, and Brilon.

Historical City Views will be on display in the pagoda tents as large-format images on Sunday, with sufficient distance maintained. The Rhine Youth Hanse, the Hanse Society Neuss, and NEWI will also be present at the event.

In a symbolic gesture, Mayor Reiner Breuer sent off the cyclists Rachid Hamdaoui, Janik Houben, and Alex Winkelmann, with Xenia Fritzler joining them in Wesel. Xenia is a participant in the youth Hanse journey on the Hanse Route, taking place on Sunday in Wesel.
