Celebratory sports event transpires in Altdorf, advocating for diversity and inclusion
On Saturday, 27th September 2025, an exciting inclusive sports festival will take place at the sports ground of DJK Altdorf. Organised by the Municipal Youth Work of the Landshut district and the Open Disability Work of the BRK District Association Landshut, this event promises to be a celebration of community and a fantastic opportunity for children, youth, and families to try different sports.
The festival offers a variety of accessible activities, including a football court at Bananenflanke, a mobile climbing wall set up by Peak7 climbing hall, and an inclusive family sports football darts event that promises a creative mix of football and darts for all ages.
Yoga enthusiasts can enjoy yoga classes led by YogaSprosse-Inklu, while Magic Yogis will perform live yoga demonstrations for everyone to enjoy. For those interested in baseball, the Bavarian Bats will be hosting a blind baseball session, allowing blind and visually impaired children and youth to participate.
A show match will be a highlight of the event, giving participants the chance to play with experienced players. Special Olympics Bayern will provide non-competitive stations focusing on fun and inclusion, and Beate Schaffelhuber will offer a wheelchair obstacle course for children and youth with and without mobility impairments.
The sports festival aims to foster exchange among participants and create an environment where everyone is welcome. It's not just about trying different sports; it's about coming together and celebrating the power of community.
