Graduation Celebrations at Hagen City Hall
On August 29, 2025, the University of Police and Public Administration North Rhine-Westphalia (HSPV NRW) held graduation ceremonies for its students at Hagen City Hall. The event was a grand celebration, marking the beginning of new careers for the graduates in the police, municipal, state administration, and pension insurance sectors.
The ceremonies for the Hagen Police Service (PVD) and the Municipal Administrative Service (KVD) were held concurrently. A total of 188 students from the PVD and 97 from the KVD graduated after completing their dual studies.
The celebration began with welcoming remarks from Mayor Erik O. Schulz and Hagen Police President Ursula Tomahogh. Imam Turan, a representative of one of the three major religions, gave words of inspiration during the event. The student representative committee of HSPV NRW, although not explicitly named, provided a look back and forward during the celebration.
The top students of the year were awarded during the celebration. The event featured musical accompaniment by the group "Ich und Du." The graduates from Hagen City Hall will begin their service in the city and the Aachen urban region.
Prof. Dr. Iris Wiesner, Vice-President of HSPV, emphasized the importance of academic qualification as a sign of a modern, future-oriented state. HSPV NRW offers six bachelor's degree programs: Administrative Informatics (B.A.), State Administrative Service - General Administration (LL.B.), Police Service (B.A.), Municipal Administrative Service - General Administration (LL.B.), Municipal Administrative Service - Administrative Business Administration (B.A.), and Pension Insurance (LL.B.).
