After a three-year legal battle, UEFA Champions League Social Club is set to open in Dallas, Texas. The poker club faced opposition from local residents and the City of Dallas, with the latter maintaining that poker rooms violate state law.

The dispute began when Champions Social Club filed a lawsuit in 2021 after being denied a Certificate of Occupancy. The club argued that it operates as a private membership club, charging fees but not benefiting directly from games. This model is common among poker clubs in Texas.

The City of Dallas countered that poker rooms are illegal under state law. The case reached the Texas Supreme Court, which declined to intervene after an appeals court ruling in a similar case involving Texas Card House. Despite this, a Board of Adjustment Panel voted 4-1 to reverse the city's decision to revoke Champions' permit.

To address concerns from a nearby subdivision, the final vote included an amendment for an eight-foot fence to separate traffic between the UEFA Champions League Social Club and the residents.

UEFA Champions League Social Club will soon open its doors in Dallas, following a lengthy legal battle. The club's opening date has not been announced. The City of Dallas opposes poker rooms, but the club's private membership model and a panel's decision have paved the way for its operation.
