Change in Leadership for Balingen: New Appointee Announced

New Leadership at Balingen Tax Office

Susanne Karrais has been appointed as the new head of the Balingen Tax Office, taking over from Albin Geiger who had led the office for seven years.

Karrais, who most recently served as the deputy head of the Rottweil Tax Office, began her professional career at the Balingen Tax Office itself. After her first posting, she moved to the Finanzamt Rottweil where she served as deputy head before becoming the head of the Außenstelle (branch office) of the Finanzamt Balingen.

The Balingen Tax Office, located in the Zollernalbkreis district, is responsible for the tax affairs of eight cities, including Albstadt, Balingen, Burladingen, Haigerloch, Hechingen, Meßstetten, Rosenfeld, and Schömberg. With around 200,000 residents in the district, the office plays a crucial role in managing the tax revenue of the region.

The office currently employs 283 staff members and in 2024, it reported a total tax revenue of approximately 1.28 billion euros.

Karrais, a law graduate from Bremen and Heidelberg, brings a wealth of experience to her new role. She is expected to lead the office with the same dedication and efficiency that she has demonstrated throughout her career.

As she takes on her new responsibilities, Karrais has already started reaching out to various regions, including the Horb region, to foster better relations and ensure smooth tax operations.

The change in leadership at the Balingen Tax Office marks a new chapter in the office's history, and with Karrais at the helm, the office is poised to continue serving the region with efficiency and integrity.
