Charitable Organization Aids Nepalese School with €67,000 Investment
In the heart of Cologne, Germany, a school building that was once reduced to rubble by an earthquake now stands tall and proud, a testament to resilience and community spirit. This school, renowned for its excellent reputation throughout the region, has been rebuilt, thanks in part to the support of the association Re:Help e.V.
The same association, based in Wiehl, has been a constant source of aid for the school, regularly providing financial donations for the purchase of essential teaching materials. Over the years, they have invested around €180,000 in the village of Rapcha, east of Kathmandu, Nepal.
Recently, a girls' dormitory for students with a long walk was inaugurated in Rapcha, and the next major project is the construction of the boys' dormitory, which will cost approximately €67,000. The financing responsibility for the youth home at Rapcha was taken over by the local municipality or designated community authorities.
Project coordinator Pancha will transport the necessary items to Rapcha as soon as possible. The journey, however, is a challenging one, covering over 306 kilometers and taking over 14 hours due to poor road conditions in Nepal.
Meanwhile, in a separate initiative, a medical team from Shanti Leprahilfe e.V. conducted a health camp in Rapcha, offering free basic medical care to the villagers. During the camp, Shanti also provided 400 pairs of socks and sneakers to the children.
Back in Cologne, the article also touches on various other topics. Renate Kotz, the author of the piece, has provided photographs and guides for DIY Hair Dye, Dress Code for a Classic-Traditional Wedding, and Business Attire for Men.
In a different development, a new kindergarten has been constructed, but the teacher informed about the lack of supplies such as paper and crayons, as there is no government budget for teaching and play materials for the kindergarten. A donation check for €3,000 was presented to the school director to address this need.
Renate Kotz obtained a shopping list from the teacher and bought various supplies for the kindergarten in Kathmandu before returning to Germany.
Lastly, the article features news about Cologne: Nümbrechter Win Gaffel Action Prize, Cities in Focus: Cologne, Students Run 4,000 Euros - Grundschule Drabenderhöhe, and Finally, Ice Time in Wiehl Again, and Together on the Way to... Norway!.
