charitableevent in New Jersey featuring Sumeet Tappoo generates funds for an Indian hospital
In the picturesque town of Holmdel, New Jersey, the Bell Theater played host to an extraordinary event on August 30. The "Concert for a Cause" organized by the New Jersey chapter of One World One Family (OWOF) Foundation saw Bollywood star singer, Sumeet Tappoo, take the stage to perform a captivating set.
The concert was part of Tappoo's tour of the US, where he is headlining concerts in 30 cities to raise funds for the world's largest free rural hospital being built in Muddenahalli, Karnataka, India. The hospital, which is expected to have 600 beds, is being built by the OWOF Foundation.
Tappoo's performance was a delightful mix of old Bollywood classics by Kishore Kumar and Mohammad Rafi, the touching melodies of Jagjit Singh, and some of his own songs from his recent album with writer-director Gulzar. The audience, numbering nearly 300, enjoyed the performance, with some people dancing to the fast-paced Hindi film songs.
Soma Rao, President of OWOF's NJ/NY Chapter, presented the organization's global humanitarian message during the event. Emphasizing their mission, Rao stated that OWOF is a global humanitarian organization that provides free nutrition, education, and healthcare to underprivileged children and adults in over 30 countries.
'Radio Guru' Kulraaj Anand introduced Sumeet Tappoo at the concert, setting the stage for an evening filled with music and philanthropy. Soma Rao also took the opportunity to highlight that the hospital is scheduled to be inaugurated by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in November this year.
The OWOF Foundation's endeavour is inspired by Sadguru Sri Madhusudan Sai, a direct disciple of Sathya Sai Baba. This concert was just one of the many events organized by the foundation to raise funds for their ambitious project in Muddenahalli, Karnataka, India.
The opening of the world's largest free state hospital in Muddenahalli, Karnataka, India, is expected in 2023. With the support of artists like Sumeet Tappoo and the generosity of the audience, the OWOF Foundation is one step closer to making this dream a reality.
