Chatbot Le Mistral AI exhibits memory capabilities, capable of recalling prior dialogues

The company has announced the beta release of Memories for Le Chat, a French-language AI chatbot that is equipped with the ability to store and recall user preferences and past interactions.
This new feature aims to enhance the user experience by providing more personalised and relevant responses. For instance, if a user informs Le Chat of a peanut allergy, the AI will remember this detail and exclude peanuts from recipe suggestions.
However, data retention poses potential privacy concerns, especially in light of inadvertent exposures of personal information that have affected various AI services in the past. To address these concerns, Mistral AI has published a detailed explanation in its Privacy Policy and documentation, outlining how it might use data and the options customers have to control it.
The company stresses that Memories is an opt-in service within Le Chat, giving users the choice to enable or disable this feature. Moreover, Mistral AI has developed new MCP connectors that businesses can deploy to connect their users to third-party tech services, ensuring secure data handling practices.
In a partnership with NTT DATA, Mistral AI is currently using secure MCP connections within NTT DATA's organisation. This collaboration is aimed at developing sustainable and secure private AI for enterprises, as of July 2025.
